You don’t need 20% down to buy a home

According to a survey by Fannie Mae, 44% of all adults believe you need a 20% downpayment to purchase a home. That’s simply not true. There are a variety of lenders who offer low-interest mortgages to qualified buyers that require a downpayment as low as 3% of the purchase price. There are also downpayment and closing cost assistance programs available to Texans.
