Red light cameras around Houston:

Forty cameras are now keeping watch at various intersections across Houston. Police Chief Harold Hurtt says there have been more than 44,000 vehicles photographed running red lights since the first cameras were installed last year. He says ten more cameras should be up and running by this summer.

Below is the complete list of red light cameras around town. These went live last month:

  • W. Sam Houston Pkwy. @ Bellaire
  • Greens Rd. @ I-45/N. Fwy.
  • N. Shepherd @ I-610/N. Loop W.
  • US 59/S.W. Fwy @ Wilcrest
  • I-610/S. Loop W. @ South Main
  • I-610/Baytown E. Fwy. @ Normandy
  • I-610/S. Loop E. @ Scott
  • U.S. 290/N.W. Fwy. @ Antoine
  • I-45/N. Fwy @ Rankin.
These are the locations that went live in November 2006:
  • West Loop South, East Service Road @ San Felipe
  • Southwest Freeway, West Service Road @ Bellaire Blvd.
  • Southwest Freeway, East Service Road @ Beechnut
  • Southwest Freeway, East Service Road @ Fondren
  • Northbound Chartres @ St. Joseph's Parkway
  • Westbound Bissonnet @ Southwest Freeway East Service Road
  • Eastbound El Dorado @ Gulf Freeway
  • Northbound Hollister @ Northwest Freeway West Service Road
  • Eastbound West Road @ North Freeway West Service Road
  • Southbound North Wayside @ East Freeway, North Service Road
